Every now and then, I get contacted to do a very special photo session, like this one.  A friend of Cassie’s contacted me, and asked if I was available to do family photos for Cassie and her family who had traveled here to the Vancouver area from Edmonton, after the tragic death of their newborn son . Their sweet son, Malachi, was born with his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck, and sadly, passed away due to complications (you can view more about their story here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8UNsQf1SPo).

The family wanted to do family photos to commemorate, remember and include little Malachi, and so they brought a framed photos of his footprints, which are included in many of the shots. This family was so loving towards one another, playing, laughing and hugging one another, even in the wake of what must be such a difficult time. It was such an honour to do this session, and an even bigger honour to include some of these images here on my blog.
