Many of you know this already, but when I’m not busy running this little ol’ photography business of mine, I run an amazing online community called the Good Mother Project. It’s an amazing collective of women, sharing their stories of motherhood on our blog, and most recently, on stage! We participated in Listen To Your Mother, which is a North American series of live readings of stories of motherhood – “giving motherhood a microphone” is their tagline, in fact. As producer of this event, I was able to witness so many cool stories, and see some pretty phenomenal transformations as regular, beautiful, brave mothers took to the stage at St. James Hall in Kitsilano on April 30th. Partial proceeds from the event were donated to the Pacific Post Partum Support Society, an organization that is very near and dear to my heart.
Thirteen incredible women shared their stories, live on stage that evening. It was hosted by my lovely friends, Robyn and Lorraine of Bobs & LoLo. I was also privileged to capture the event on camera. These are some of the shots of this incredible event:
