Believe it or not, not everyone loves cake – especially their first taste!

On Thursday, I posted a family session that included this wee little one. Right after her family session at Diefenbaker Park, we headed back to my home studio for her first birthday cake smash. As with all cake smash sessions, I never know what to expect. Some babies are totally ready to dig their chubby little fingers right in, others want to smack the cake, and quite a few aren’t really sure what to do with it. Our lovely cake was provided by my good friend Heather at Little Nibs: Cakes, Cupcakes and Cookies, and from firsthand experience, I know that her baking is delicious.

But Miss A was not so sure! She stared at the cake, poked it a bit, tasted a tiny bit off of mom’s fingers, and the pretty much decided she was done with it!  But that’s ok, because she still had an adorable outfit on and we were able to capture some really sweet shots anyways!
