From the moment I got on the phone with Robin to discuss her new engagement to Chris, I knew I was going to get along with her swimmingly. She was bubbly and warm, and oh-so-excited to be engaged to her lovely fiancé. The two of them had just made the road trip out to the west coast to start a new life in Victoria, as Chris had just been stationed in Esquimalt. Despite leaving wonderful friends and family back home on the east coast, Robin was overflowing with enthusiasm for the beauty and laidback nature of Vancouver Island. It was contagious – sometimes I forget how lucky we are to live on the west coast!
As luck would have it, I had a trip planned to Victoria in the coming weeks so we were able to easily plan an engagement photo session for them, just outside Victoria in Goldstream Provincial Park. I hadn’t visited the park in quite a few years, but Robin and Chris had spent some time hiking and exploring here, and they had the perfect location in mind for their engagement photos. They did not disappoint.
It was Niagara Falls.
Not the Niagara Falls of Ontario, of course, but this lovely, shimmering waterfall is also named Niagara Falls, and it was the backdrop for our adorable engagement session with these two lovebirds. Thankfully, we happened upon the falls during a lull in visitors and we were able to explore and snap away without too many fellow hikers photobombing our session.
I simply adore these two and their photos, and I hope that I’ll get to photograph their wedding someday soon!
