I find myself repeating it often during sessions with young kids – “Don’t worry – this is totally normal!”  Kids that won’t sit still, kids that want to run and play, kids that need to be bribed, crying kids, running-away kids, grumpy kids – it’s all 100% normal! But for the families that have stuck with me year after year, I also find myself saying, “See how it gets easier as they get older?” (and then they become teenagers, and things often take a grumpy turn again, lol!)

With Meghan’s lovely little family, we found ourselves reminiscing about our past two sessions. I first met her, her husband and adorable son in 2016 for their first family photo session, and then we connected again last year for their 2017 photos – and although her son was perfectly content and happy during both sessions, he was not remotely interested in sitting still for the camera! But, again, totally normal! This year, her sweet boy actually humoured me with some posed family shots at Beach Grove Park – and then afterwards, we rewarded ourselves with some beach splashing and playground climbing! And those photos are just as precious as the posed ones, if you asked me – maybe more so!
