We had some very magical summery evenings for sunset sessions this year. And then we had some overcast, cooler evenings! I’m always game to shoot in most weather, but for a sunset session, I like to give my clients the option of rescheduling if a cloudy evening is in the forecast. I know that many people are hoping for that amazing golden glow of the sunset – but this particular session is proof that you can still get amazing, heartfelt and magical photos, even under a cloudy sky!

I’ve been working with this sweet family for a few years, and catching up and photographing them every summer makes theirs one of the sessions I most look forward to. Both parents are always keen to get down on the ground and play with their kids – or swing them in the air, or race with them through the fields, or get their butts kicked in a laughing contest. We always have a blast whenever I’m photographing them, and I think their photos really show that!
