We’ve been trying to coordinate this session for, literally, YEARS! Each time this extended family gets together, they email me and ask if I’m free to do a large family session. And fate was never on our side! I was often out-of-town, or already booked, but this year (finally!), we were able to coordinate a date!

It was only two days before Christmas, but I was grateful to get out of my house and into the cool, crisp weather for this lovely session at Historic Stewart Farm in White Rock. It was the perfect day for photos, and the family was in great spirits. The grandparents were there, their four children with their spouses, plus all the grandkids – it was a large group, but a fun group.

What struck me the most was that it was obvious that everyone loved being in each other’s company. All four families and the grandparents gather every year to be with each other over the holidays, and it felt like a homecoming. There was laughter, inside jokes, multiple photo bombs, endless hugs and they even serenaded me with Christmas tunes before heading off to Whistler together.

It was a truly lovely way to celebrate the holidays, and I’m so glad we were finally able to coordinate this special session!
