With all the extra family time we’re getting this year, could there be a better way to celebrate and commemorate the time together than a family photo session? I don’t know about you, but I spend so much time with the immediate family in my home, that’s it’s such a treat to even visit with my mom or my sister’s family. It becomes a novelty to enjoy the company of people who used to feel like every day visitors.

And I think that’s why I’ve noticed such an increase in extended family sessions this fall. We need a way to honour these steadfast relationships and the quality time we are spending together, and photos are kind of a perfect solution.

I met Sheri and her extended family down at Centennial Beach on a bright Sunday afternoon in September. Everyone was in great spirits, needling and teasing one another, and totally ready to make some family memories. We captured such a wide variety of photos – each combination of family members, plus some candids, and a full family photo down on the beach. I loved photographing Sheri’s family!
