Best South Delta Portrait Locations | Tsawwassen Photographer

Ever since we moved to Tsawwassen 8 years ago, I’ve fallen more and more in love with the community and the beautiful scenery. As a photographer, I get to explore all kinds of fun locations, but I’ve definitely developed some favourite spots to shoot at. Here are my top choices for a family portrait session in South Delta:

Fields at Centennial Beach in Boundary Bay

One of my most favourite locations to shoot at on a warm spring or summer evening is the golden fields and beaches at Centennial Beach in Boundary Bay, Tsawwassen. With a mix of tall and short grasses, lots of space to run around, and a gorgeous expansive beach, this beautiful location is where I hold most of my summer sunset sessions.

Deas Island Regional Park

Tucked away, just off highway 99 near the Massey Tunnel is the lovely Deas Island Regional Park. With trails, tall trees, open fields and beautiful light, this location is beautiful for a later afternoon or morning session at any time of year. Luscious greenery during the spring, beautiful light in the summer, autumn colours in the fall and a sparse beauty in the winter, it’s a lovely location all year round!

Beach Grove Park

With it’s gorgeous foliage and tall trees, Beach Grove Park is one of my favourite places to shoot a family portrait session in the fall. It is also an off-leash dog park, so it’s not the best location for youngsters who may have a fear of canines, but if that’s not a problem, the trails, rustic fences and beautiful leaves make this a lovely choice for an autumn session.

The top corners of Diefenbaker Park

With it’s duck pond, awesome playground and water park, Diefenbaker Park is a lovely spot to spend an afternoon with the family on a summer day. But there are some hidden areas of the park too, which are great for family portraits. My favourites are the top two corners, which are less busy and have beautiful scenery depending on the time of year. From pink cherry blossoms in the spring, to autumn foliage in the fall, this park has some beautifully scenic spots! It’s also home to the infamous “photo rock” which makes every family look amazing 🙂

Of course, there are many more beautiful locations in South Delta – these are just a few of my tried-and-true favourites. I’m always open to new ideas and suggestions!
