Over the past year, engaged couples have had to get really creative when planning their weddings. Covid19 threw so many of us for a loop, and brides & grooms have had to completely upend their wedding plans, opting for elopements and micro-weddings in order to minimize attendance and curb the spread of the disease.

But for Camille & Cory, all they ever wanted to do was elope! So the pandemic didn’t cramp their style at all – in fact, it only enhanced it and made it so much easier for them to have their dream wedding. This adorable pair opted for a quaint elopement on the beautiful Galiano Island, just off the coast of the Lower Mainland of BC.

The setting was the Galiano Inn – one of my most favourite locations in BC – and I was utterly thrilled to be invited along as the photographer for their special day. It was a quiet ferry ride over for me that morning, fully masked and sanitized, and I was able to sequester myself away in my own room at the inn for the times when I wasn’t acting as photographer.

I met Camille & Cory for the first time just a mere 15 minutes before their wedding ceremony, but we clicked right away. Camille looked comfortably stunning in her vintage-esque dress, and Cory’s tailored linen suit was the perfect match. They both seemed a little nervous, but more than anything, I could sense their excitement for the ceremony. It was obvious that the two of them just couldn’t wait to marry one another.

One quick and relaxed ceremony later and they were officially Mr & Mrs! The rest of my time with them was spent exploring the inn grounds and the beach, capturing photos and memories and chatting away the whole time. There’s no doubt in my mind that these two are a perfect match; they were so at ease with one another, so affectionate and just giddy to be in the presence of one another.
