Welcome to Spring 2021 everyone! Isn’t it lovely to have so many things to look forward to? Nicer weather, more sunshine, long weekends, VACCINES! – I have a feeling it’s going to be a great spring and summer!
The first few months of every year are always a bit slower for my photography business and in previous years, you could usually find me freaking out about the decrease in business, panicking about my pricing, offering endless unsuccessful promotions and doing work that just “paid the bills” instead of making photographs that really make my heart sing.
I decided that in 2021 I was just going to lean into the uncomfortableness of the winter months as a family photographer, and enjoy my downtime. So, instead of endlessly worrying about whether or not business will pick up again (because it will – it always does!), I’ve spent my days reading books, doing puzzles, updating my website and social media, re-editing old photos, making new photos for fun and taking some online photography classes to keep me on my toes. It’s been really quite lovely!
And now that I’m all relaxed, organized and inspired, I’m ready for whatever spring and summer want to throw my way!
