Family photos are still possible in the winter! All you need is an hour without rain, some warm, cozy sweaters and a willingness to have a bit of chilly fun with your family! And Stephanie’s crew was totally game.

I usually see this lovely family in the autumn for my Fall Family Minis, but this year, I had the honour of spending a full-length session with them. Even though I’m a Delta family photographer, I met them in their own ‘hood this year, at Deep Cove Park in North Vancouver. I hadn’t visited in years, so it was was a treat for me to get out to another area of the city, during my slower season.

The skies may have been cloudy, but the rain held off and it was lovely light for these family portraits, both at the beach and under the trees in the park next to the shore. I loved chatting and hanging out with them – learning about Stephanie’s daughter’s love of horseback riding, and her eldest son’s interest in video games. Her youngest had the cutest little facial expressions, which were so much fun to capture!

I’m so glad I got to catch up with these guys and capture some lovely family memories that they’ll be able to treasure for years to come.
