Happy New Year, Friends!

It’s that time of year again when time moves at a weird pace. January feels like it’s 1742 days long – and then suddenly it’s over like it never happened. For me, it’s a lovely time of the year (aside from the weather) because photography bookings are slower (again – that dang weather), and I have a chance to breathe after the chaos of the holidays.

This holiday season saw us celebrating with family near and far, and then once all the presents were opened and turkey dinner was served, our family took off for a few crazy days in Los Angeles. We took in a couple NBA games, and spent New Year’s Eve in Disneyland, and then finally – we were home for some quiet days of decluttering, reorganizing, planning and settling into January.

Which is exactly what I’m excited to be doing with my photography business as well – decluttering, reorganizing and planning! And that’s what this email is all about – all the NEW and favourite things happening at eran jayne photography this year.

Here’s what I’m excited about in 2024:

• A NEW HOME STUDIO SPACE! Our family was tired of having a cluttered, unattractive, photography-centred room be the first thing you saw when you came in our front door. We were craving a relaxing, quiet, clean space where we could sit back, read books, do yoga or meditate, and with some creative planning, we also realized that this could DOUBLE as a studio space. Now I’ve got a simplified space for headshots that I feel excited to use on a more regular basis (10 days of yoga in here and counting!)

• A NEW YEAR HEADSHOT SPECIAL! For the months of January and February, I will be offering 25% off my headshot sessions. These can take place against a white backdrop in my new studio space or outdoors – your choice! Stay tuned for an email on Monday about this.

• MONTHLY MINI SESSIONS! I’m not sure if this is going to work but I’m going to give it a try! I’m going to schedule ONE DATE every month for mini sessions and offer 4 back-to-back family mini sessions on that date. Stay tuned for the January dates – an email will be coming about them shortly.

• PRICING UPDATE! I’m going to be transitioning my regular family portrait sessions and newborn sessions to an all-inclusive pricing format. That means that session fees will be higher, but they will include the session itself, plus a FULL gallery of 60+ edited, digital images. A la carte sessions with less images will still be available but only by request, and upgrading to a full collection of images after the session will cost more. Pricing structure for mini sessions and sunset sessions will stay a la carte.

• PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN MOTHER’S DAY MINIS! This will be my LAST year for my annual pay-what-you-can Mother’s Day mini sessions. But don’t fret! In the future (2025 and beyond), I still plan to hold Mother’s Day minis, but they will have a set price (likely still my best deal for mini sessions of the year – just something a little more financially viable for me 🙂

• SUNSET SESSIONS! My favourite sessions will definitely be back, starting in late May and running throughout the summer until mid-September. I will once again be offering “Almost” Sunset sessions at a discounted price in the earlier months, as well as “Prime Time” Sunset sessions later in the summer.

• NO HOLIDAY MINIS but MORE FALL MINIS! I wasn’t going to do Holiday Minis in 2023 but then I started to panic about missing out and ended up offering a few outdoor ones anyways. Not in 2024! Instead, I will be offering additional fall mini session dates later in the fall, and giving families the option to bring their own holiday props for a photo or two, or making use of a few of mine that I will have on hand. Easy peasy, and no stress!

Phew! I think that’s it! I’m really excited for 2024, and hope that I get to see many of you in front of my lens this year. Happy New Year once again!
