When I met Amber and her extended family on a lovely July morning, I knew right away that family means everything to this lovely group. Amber, her husband and 3 kids are based in Hong Kong and her sister’s family is based in Quebec, but they had all come together in the Vancouver area for a few weeks to visit Amber’s parents, especially her dad. I loved that they made family photos a priority during their visit!

I met the group in Burnaby and we walked down to a shady trail that their dad likes to take walks on. It was the perfect spot for photos on a hot morning – lush and green, with lots of natural leafy archways, and not busy at all!

Although their focus was mainly on getting some beautiful posed portraits of the full group and individual groupings, I also loved that they were open to my suggestions of some more relaxed and fun images. Amber’s two little girls were just bundles of vibrating, goofy energy and it was such a treat to watch the giggle their way through our entire session as the grown-ups made silly faces behind my back (I seriously love it with the adults are willing to play too!).

At an extended family session, I love to get as many groupings in their collection of photos as possible, and we captured anything and everything with this crew! It was truly a pleasure to work with them and deliver a beautiful gallery of timeless images for the whole family to share.
