One day, when my kiddo is in his 20’s, I sincerely hope that he will be as easygoing and agreeable as Dee Ann’s son who joined her for a mother & son sunset session in mid-September. This thought was on my mind constantly during this photo shoot, and I’m sure I mentioned it at least a dozen times to the two of them as we went about our session on this beautiful evening at Centennial Beach – but thankfully they were not annoyed by me (or at least they didn’t show it!).

It was a tricky sunset season this year, with odd weather making it hard to judge whether or not many sessions were going to be able to take place, until just a few hours before our meeting time. With Dee Ann’s session, we ended up having to reschedule hers due to rain and the day after her session finally took place, she left on an amazing vacation to Italy. I was impressed that she wasn’t completely giddy or distracted when we met up, but both her and her son were in great spirits and we had a lovely time capturing these portraits for the two of them!

If any adult children out there are reading this – please do photos with your parents when they ask! This was such a heartwarming session and I look forward to bugging my son to do photos with me when he’s in his 20s as well 🙂
