When I get an email from a bride asking if I’d like to be part of a surprise wedding, my answer is an immediate and enthusiastic “YES!”
Sarah & Justin gathered their friends and family for what everyone thought was an engagement party in early March. But only a select few knew the real plan—this wasn’t just a celebration of their engagement. It was their wedding day!
With only their immediate family and bridal party in on the secret, everything was set up outside in the backyard, ready for the big moment. I arrived just as Sarah & Justin were giving a toast to their guests. As they spoke, they dropped the big surprise: not only were they celebrating their engagement, but they were also about to say their “I Do’s”—right then and there!
After a round of shocked cheers and excited applause, the bridal party slipped away to get ready. In less than 30 minutes, a beautiful wedding ceremony unfolded before their delighted guests.
This was truly one of the most fun and unique weddings I’ve ever been part of—completely my style (and, coincidentally, just up the road from me!). After a heartfelt ceremony and some joyful family and bridal party portraits, Sarah & Justin took a little time for themselves. We headed down to Centennial Beach just in time for the most magical golden-hour glow. The light was absolutely perfect, and their portraits turned out stunningly.
I’m beyond thrilled to have been part of Sarah & Justin’s unforgettable day! A huge thank-you to them and their wonderful friends and family for pulling off such a beautifully orchestrated celebration. It was an absolute honour to capture these memories!
