Let’s be honest—South Delta is kind of a hidden gem when it comes to dreamy photo locations. Whether you’re chasing that golden sunset glow or just want a fun, relaxed backdrop for your family photos, we are spoiled for choice around here. These are my top three favourite portrait session spots, and trust me—each one brings its own kind of magic (and photo-worthy vibes!).
🌅 Centennial Beach – Boundary Bay Beauty
If you’ve ever been to Centennial Beach at sunset, you know it’s the definition of coastal perfection. That golden light? Pure magic. The sandy shore stretching into the bay? Chef’s kiss. And don’t even get me started on those tall grasses and driftwood logs—nature’s own props, ready to work it.
Sunset sessions here are showstoppers, but don’t count out daytime either. Mornings are peaceful, and the light is still super flattering. Plus, if your kids are like mine and full of beans by 10am, we can run, jump, and play to our hearts’ content. (Bonus: there’s a coffee shop nearby. Just sayin’.)

🌲 Deas Island Park – A Little Bit Wild, A Little Bit Vintage
Tucked away along the Fraser River, Deas Island is the best kind of secret. It’s got big romantic forest energy with winding trails, wildflowers, and towering cottonwoods that look like they’re straight out of a fairy tale. And for those of you who love a little history? Say hello to the charming old-school buildings, rustic fences and bridges scattered throughout the park, giving serious vintage vibes (without any actual time travel required).
This is one of my favourite places for big family sessions, especially if you love that mix of lush greenery and heritage charm. Bring your boots—or go barefoot. Either way, it’s a vibe.

🍁 Diefenbaker Park – Classic, Cozy, and Full of Character
Ah, Diefenbaker. You classic beauty, you. This park has everything: big open green spaces, a duck pond, gorgeous trees that change with the seasons, and a legendary weeping willow that looks like something out of a storybook. In spring, the park is bursting with lush green beauty, and come fall, the satisfying crunch of leaves underfoot adds the perfect cozy touch to your session.
Want a hidden gem within a gem? There’s a sweet little corner that boasts what I like to call the “photo rock,” tucked in the northwest part of the park. It’s a total go-to for perfectly-lit portraits (and yes, it’s every bit as magical as it sounds).

South Delta is full of places that make your portraits pop—without the stress, the crowds, or the parking nightmares. Whether we’re chasing sunsets at the beach, wandering through mossy trails, or twirling under a willow tree, I promise your session will be easy, fun, and full of laughs. Just the way it should be.
