Every now and then, I get asked why I don’t offer birth photography. The truth is a little bit embarrassing, but I’ll share it with you. I am a total emotional mess when it comes to women giving birth. I’ve never witnessed a birth in person (except for the one where my son was born, which was rather unavoidable since I was the one that was birthing him). But anytime there is a birth on a tv show or in a movie, something almost primal takes over and I become a complete and utter blubbering mess. It’s not pretty.
I just don’t think I would be a great person to have on hand at a birth.
Leslie, on the other hand, is a local South Delta doula, with a very calming and friendly energy and she would be a perfect person to have on hand at a birth! So, I was thrilled to meet up with her in early June to capture some new headshots for her blossoming doula business. It was a bit of a blustery day but we both persevered and managed to get some great shows for her.
