A few weeks ago, I was able to escape the chill of wintery Vancouver and head to sunny southern California (Laguna Cliffs, to be precise) for my first ever Click Away conference. I had never attended before, and had no idea what to expect, especially since I chose my workshops and classes months ago when I registered.

But from the moment I landed in Orange County and randomly connected with a group of other Canadian photographers, I had an unforgettable experience. From borrowing drool-worthy gear, to listening to inspiring speakers and attending workshops that seriously made me want to recreate my entire business, I learned and experienced SO much. Plus, it didn’t hurt that I had a giant hotel room all to myself!

I am so excited to start exploring and capturing more emotion in my portrait collections in the coming year. To me, this is what photography is all about. The photos that mean the most to me are the ones that send me back in time, to a moment that I can literally feel with all my senses, just by looking at that photograph. Those are the types of photos I want to create for the families that I work with.
