It was the last day of August, and you could practically feel summer slipping over the horizon with the sun as it set. But that didn’t stop us from from having a magical, beautiful sunset session in the fields at Centennial Beach!
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this lovely little family for the past 3 years, watching their sweet daughter grow up and become wiser and more adorable each year. This year, I also learned of her endearing empathy, when I asked her if she could see the little bug that lives inside my camera (a trick to get kids to look into the camera lens and works pretty much 99% of the time). We watched as her curiosity turned to sadness and concern, and mom & dad knew right away that she was upset to learn that a poor little bug was trapped inside my camera! It was the first time this photographer’s trick backfired on me, but it also warmed my heart to learn that this sweet little girl had already developed such a sense of empathy and concern for others.
Needless to say, we relied on other games and fun activities for the rest of the session! And it ended up being such a lovely way to end the month of August!
