It’s a tradition that has evolved and changed over the years, but my Mother’s Day sessions always hold a special place in my heart. In my earlier days as a Tsawwassen photographer, my Mom & Me sessions took place in my home studio, against a simple white backdrop, where moms could play and snuggle with their kids while I captured natural, beautiful images.
Last year, because of Covid-19. I was unable to hold my Mother’s Day sessions in the studio, so instead I moved them outdoors, and since they were my first sessions back after BC’s lockdown, I made them “pay what you can” to ease us all back in.
They were such a huge success in this format last year, that I decided to bring them back this year! I believe it is so hugely important for moms to have beautiful photos with their little ones – it brings me great joy knowing that every single mama out there is able to book one of these photo sessions, should they wish.
I hadn’t met Monica and her sweet little girl before, but my goodness, they were a treat to work with. Her daughter had such a permanently curious look on her face, and was such a joy to photograph. I loved their snuggles and sweet interactions – and lucky me! I get to work with Monica and her family again for a full family session in a few weeks!
