Having a newborn baby at home is one of the most magical times in our lives – but it can also be incredibly stressful! That’s why I love offering in-home newborn sessions. That means, no worrying about nap schedules, no packing diaper bags, no unfamiliar settings, no uncomfortable and unnatural posing, no screaming babies in the car. Everything takes place in the comfort of your own home, with your own familiar surroundings that your new young one has come to know and trust in their first few days in the world.

For this family, it was my absolute honour and pleasure to photograph them once again. I’ve seen them year after year at family photo sessions, and also at a newborn session for their older son. This time, I was invited into their downtown Vancouver home to help welcome their newest baby boy. He was a bit of an early arrival but was pretty much the perfect age when I got to meet him and photograph him.

His older brother and sister were giddy with excitement to have me in their home and show off their newest family member (I also got to have a tour of their bedroom, and their very cool toys). And new little baby B was pretty content to be passed around, snuggled and kissed by every family member over the course of the few hours that I was there.
