It’s almost the end of the fall family photography rush, and I’m winding things down in preparation for a low-key holiday at home. I always approach the autumn with excitement – so many new families to meet and photograph, beautiful scenery and weather (well, less beautiful weather this year it seems!), a busy time full of energy and excitement. But as November rolls into December, I’m always glad for the calm it brings. From now until the spring, my schedule clears up quite a bit – the rush of getting those family photos done for Christmas cards has passed, and I spend most of the new year focusing on headshots, newborns and the occasional family photo session.

But I still have a few more great sessions to post this year! Next week, I’ll be featuring some of my adorable holiday mini sessions, but for now, I’m excited to show off this lovely fall family session at Deas Island Regional Park. Such a beautiful family, with just a lovely energy for one of my last sessions of the season. Thankfully, the weather ended up cooperating with us on our rescheduled date and the park was showing off all it’s sparkling autumn glory, which truly matched the spirit of this crew.

As I drove away from this session, the giggles of the two little girls of this crew were ringing in my ears! They were just so vibrant and loveable, and their energy was absolutely infectious. The rest of my day was definitely tinged with their joy, and I hope that viewing their photos will pass on some of that joy to you!
