They are my most popular session of the year – sunset sessions! These beautiful golden hour sessions take place down at Centennial Beach park in Tsawwassen, during that gorgeous hour right before the sun sets over the sparkling fields.

You may have seen images from these sessions before and booked one for yourself this summer, hoping for images similar to the ones you’ve seen on my social media. Aside from crossing all your fingers and toes for a sunshine-y evening, there’s something else you can do to ensure that your images leave you speechless: plan your wardrobe!

A sunset session is practically begging for light &/or airy attire, so my number one recommendation is to choose clothing for yourself and your family that is either lighter in colour or isn’t too constrictive – or, even better, both! Pastel colours, beiges or whites – for everyone! – look amazing against those beautiful golden fields.

Clothing also shouldn’t be too tight. Choose flowing dresses or skirts, light-weight linen or cotton shirts or pants, and make sure your shoes are comfy too!

Clothing is definitely important for a sunset session; however, the most important thing is that you HAVE FUN! If plotting out wardrobes for your entire family is just not your thing – that’s ok too! I want this whole experience to be enjoyable for you – from preparation, to the session itself, and viewing your photos afterwards.
