It was a summer for finally gathering! I probably photographed a record number of extended family groups, which was a true joy after two summers of Covid, which limited us to only immediate family members. So many kids growing up without seeing grandparents, babies being born without meeting aunts & uncles, cousins getting older without being able to play together. I was READY for families to gather again!

Becki and her family were too! This lovely group gathered with me on sunny September morning at Deas Island Regional Park, and it was just so sweet to see the little cousins, setting off to explore together while the grandparents looked on, with huge smiles on their faces. As always, we started with a full group photo while the kids still had a teeny bit of patience, and then we moved on to smaller family groupings, and eventually played some running games with the kids. Once the kids were exhausted and done, we still had some time to photograph the adults – but then of course, the kids wanted in on those too!
