I’m sure it goes without saying, but I truly love the families that I get to see year after year after year. Many of them I follow on social media, and they’ll send me their annual Christmas card, but it’s still fun to see them in person to see how much taller their kids have gotten and hear about the new developments in their lives.

I have been photographing Christine’s family for years – since her beautiful daughters were giggly little girls – and even featured her family in my Motherhood Unfiltered series in 2016. And it’s always easy and relaxed to work with all of them. The girls pull a million goofy faces to annoy their mom, mom begs for “just one nice photo, PLEASE!” and dad pretends like he’s along for the ride begrudgingly (but secretly, I think he might like it!). And by the time it’s done, everyone has dissolved into giggles at least once, and as always, we have a beautiful set of photos for them.
