Have I ever mention how much I love it when kids want to ham it up for the camera? Just a few times?

Well, in case you haven’t heard me mention it a million times before, I love nothing more than kids who want to be totally themselves in front of the camera. Bring it on with the goofy smiles, the crazy poses, the tree-climbing, the dancing, the running, the tickle fights, I say!. This is real life, and I am 100% on board in terms of capturing it.

I’ve known the Shantz family for quite a long time, and their boys are pretty comfortable with me when it comes to doing family photos. I can pretty much guarantee that their natural smiles are only going to come out when they or I or their parents are being goofy. In fact, I’m pretty sure I spoke in my faux, completely-over-the-top, British accent to get the natural smiles in this bunch! (If you haven’t heard this yet at your own family session, stay tuned – it’s awful, but it works!)
