I will jump at any chance to visit Galiano Island. It’s one of my favourite places in BC – so serene and laidback, with absolutely stunning scenery and wonderfully friendly people. When Star and her fiancé Rowan reached out to me from Australia this past summer, and asked if I would be interested in photographing their wedding in October, I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity! Especially since I immediately fell in love with their sense of humour as a couple, and their adorably quirky connection to one another.

October couldn’t come soon enough as I got all my gear in order and prepared to make the short 45-minute trip to Galiano. It was a GORGEOUS autumn day (and I mean, GORGEOUS) – we could not have asked for better weather. Rowan and his Australian family members were right at home in the warmth of this beautiful BC fall day, and Galiano was truly showing off her lovely autumn colours.

When I arrived at Woodstone Manor, the staff were busy preparing the dining room and wedding site, getting everything in perfect order for their beloved past staff member, Star, who grew up on Galiano and certainly made her mark, judging by the care and attentiveness that Woodstone staffers gave to this event. Everyone was so welcoming and kind upon my arrival and I dove right into capturing this amazing day.

I won’t bore you too much longer with written details, but instead, will let the photos speak for themselves. In case you haven’t guessed from my overly effusive writing already, this was the BEST day. A truly beautiful wedding, with absolutely wonderful people.
