So, you’ve booked a fall family photo session and now you need to decide what to wear! I know this can be almost more stressful for some people than the photo shoot itself, so here are some quick and easy tips and ideas to get you going. - Start with you/mom. Mom needs to feel beautiful and comfortable in what she’s wearing. Pick out a cozy, autumn outfit that makes you feel amazing, and coordinate the rest of the family around you.
2. Start early! If you can, dedicate some time to coordinating your outfits, and try not to throw something together the night before your photo session. You may need to shop or borrow things from friends, so make sure you leave some time to do so.
3. Find outfits that complement each other in colour and style – but try to avoid being totally matchy-matchy. I’ve put together some sample outfits below (from Old Navy!) to give you an idea of how to coordinate. Old Navy is a great place to shop because their colour palettes often match across various family members’ attire.
4. Once you have everyone’s outfits, toss them all together into a pile on your bed – seriously! If any one piece stands out from the pile, you might want to consider finding something different that will coordinate better.
If you still need some inspiration for this year’s fall photo session, I did a little online window shopping at Old Navy and put together some ideas to inspire you! With any of the shirts in this collage, a nice light jean or khaki would work well – or pants/skirt of any colour that matches! Feel free to mix patterns and colours, but aim to have some solid colours in the mix as well!
