As much as I cross my fingers and toes, not every summer evening can boast a beautiful sunset. But sometimes, we just need to go ahead as planned because time the days are getting shorter and school is starting and life is chaotic! And that’s ok because I am always confident that we will get beautiful images at any session. They just may be in shades of blue and grey, rather than pink and orange.

So when Kyla opted to go ahead with her “sunset” session at the end of August, we just made it work! There was no rain in the forecast, but the evening was cloudy and overcast, so we just met a bit earlier than planned and embraced the grey skies and cooler air. And actually, Kyla and her crew were perfectly attired in shades of blue, making them match their surrounding quite suitably.

Her youngest was quite obsessed with a baseball that I had in my car and so that makes an appearance in quite a few of the photos, but I think it adds a little bit of extra charm and fun. Add to that her eldest son art directing many of the shots, plus to the funky clouds and the playtime on the beach and you end up with quite a run and eclectic collection of family memories!
