Sarah’s Extended Family Session | Tsawwassen Photographer

Even though it was the end of August and fall was still three weeks away, the leaves on the trees had already start to change for this extended family session at Diefenbaker Park, giving this shoot a smidge of an autumnal vibe. I do love the golden sunset sessions of the summer, but when the air temperature shifts and the fall vibes creep in, I have to confess, I can’t wait to reach for my cozy sweaters and hot tea!

With family visiting from out-of-town, Sarah thought it was the perfect time to sneak in an extended family session with the grandparents and cousins. This sturdy tree was the perfect centrepiece for many of the photos, with a great branch to lean and sit on, giving a little bit of interest and fun to what can sometimes be very “pose-y” photos. Add to that the bright orange leaves in the background, and we managed to have a perfect fall session – ha!

As always, at every extended family session, I aim to capture images of all the family groupings – each individual family pod, the grandparents and grandkids, cousins, individual kids….we did it all! And the result was a lovely cohesive collection of photos for this family to cherish for years to come!
