At the beginning of 2023, I announced that I wouldn’t be holding my traditional indoor studio Holiday Mini sessions this year. To be truthful, this style of photography (posed, studio sessions), isn’t really my specialty, and I never feel truly comfortable doing those sessions, constantly worrying about the set and keeping my house tidy, and making sure my cats aren’t wrecking everything.

But I also knew that I would be affecting some of my regular clients who return year after year for Holiday Mini sessions – like Kimiko and her family. Luckily for me, they just got an adorable new puppy (Merle) and they were more than happy to book an outdoor fall session with me instead! And honestly, I am SO thrilled with how their photos turned out!

Kimiko’s kids were constantly striking adorable poses, straight out of a Gap ad, but were also totally happy to be a little bit goofy and silly – which is *exactly* my cup of tea! And their puppy Merle – oh my goodness! Just one look at her adorable little face and I was totally in love! This family session was just so easy and laidback and I loved every single second of it!
