In amongst all of the fall mini sessions and holiday mini sessions, I managed to squeeze in a few studio headshots sessions this autumn, including one with local opera singer, Martin. This tenor was busy preparing for Handel’s Messiah with the United Voices Choir in early December and needed new & updated headshots for his many upcoming performances.

Martin was super easy to work with – our chatter was constant as we discussed music and performing, lighting and cameras, videography and editing. He’s a man of many skills and talents, with no shortage of passion for any of it! And it was lovely to hear that after a rough few years of minimal live opera performances (#thanksCovid), Martin’s vocal calendar is quickly filling up with numerous up & coming projects on the horizon.

As 2023 draws to a close, I’ve minimized most of my bookings until the new year. Until then, I’m working on rearranging and redecorating my home studio into more of a multi-purpose space where I can not only host headshot sessions, but also use it for my own needs. This means I’ll be paring down on my backdrop offerings, but I’ll still be keeping a simple, clean and modern setting that seems to be popular for many corporate and lifestyle headshots.
