Celebrating 50 Years of Love: The Martin Family Session

It’s not every day that you get to witness a love story that’s lasted half a century – let alone photograph the incredible legacy it’s created. The Martin family gathered for a truly special extended family photo session to celebrate a golden milestone: a 50th wedding anniversary.

Fresh from a beautiful anniversary brunch at Tsawwassen Springs, the entire family—24 people in total!—came together in the Photo Garden to mark the occasion with photos. The couple’s four sons were all present with their families, and the session was full of joy and laughter, especially for mom. Turns out, she hhe had no idea that some of her loved ones would be joining the celebration, including family who came all the way from from Ontario and Washington State. Needless to say, the surprise was a huge success!

The group included 10 adults and 14 kids, ranging from age 3 to 16. While organizing that many people might sound like a challenge, the vibe was anything but. Everyone was easygoing, full of love, and truly excited to be there. The younger girls had dubbed themselves “the cool babies” and immediately bonded again, like lifelong besties.

We captured every combination imaginable—from the full group to each individual family, grandparents with their grandkids, siblings, cousins, and everything in between. It was a joyful whirlwind of hugs, giggles, and connection.

This session wasn’t just about taking photos—it was about freezing a rare, beautiful moment in time where generations came together to honour the couple at the heart of it all. What an absolute privilege to help the Martin family celebrate 50 years of love, family, and togetherness. 💛
