Hayley’s Headshot Session – A Talented Triple Threat in the Making

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Hayley for a quick but fun headshot session recently. A Grade 9 student with dance and theatre experience, Hayley needed updated headshots for an audition submission to a local theatre production. The timing was a little last-minute, but luckily, she and her mom were flexible and we were able to find a time that worked for all of us.

Hayley is a natural in front of the camera—confident, poised, and easy to work with. It’s always exciting to work with young performers who are not only passionate about their craft but also genuinely sweet and easy to be around. On top of her theatre experience, Hayley is also a very talented dancer, which definitely came through in the way she carried herself during the session – graceful and very aware of her body angles and movement.

I first met Hayley through Delta Youth Theatre, where she’s been in a few productions alongside my son. and it’s always a treat to watch young artists like Hayley grow over the years. Just a few years ago, she was a feisty Young Nala in The Lion King Jr., and now she’s an elegant and poised teenager!

Lucky for me, this wasn’t the first time I had the chance to work with Hayley; last year, I photographed her entire family during a sunset session, and they were so much fun to work with. Warm, fun, and easygoing, just like Hayley.

I hope everything went well with her audition and can’t wait to see where her performing journey takes her next. Break a leg, Hayley!
