Celebrating 50 Years with Amanda’s Family at Centennial Beach

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Amanda’s extended family in mid-June for a very special occasion – her parents’ 50th wedding anniversary! We met at the always-gorgeous Centennial Beach, and the evening was filled with laughter, fun, and the kind of organized chaos that only comes with large family sessions (plus pets!).

Amanda brought together quite the crew: her parents, her two brothers and their partners, her almost-one-year-old nephew, and a couple of beloved furry friends—including a cat! That’s right, this was officially my first-ever photo session with a cat, thanks to Amanda’s soon-to-be sister-in-law. I’m not sure the cat loved it, but I was thrilled (if you know me and how much I adore cats, you understand why!).

Amanda came so well-prepared. She had a full list of must-have photo combinations and a plan to make sure we got everything in – that’s my kinda girl! We kicked things off with the full group, then focused on getting all the essential shots with her young nephew while he was still in good spirits. He was such a trooper – tired by the end, but held on like a champ through countless cuddles and poses.

We wrapped up with just the two people at the heart of it all: Amanda’s parents. Their warmth and connection were obvious, and they seemed truly happy to be celebrating 50 years of life together surrounded by their growing family.

Extended family sessions like these are such a beautiful reminder of what really matters. And let’s be real – throw in a beach, a baby, and a cat, and I’m in photographer heaven, lol!
