Kyla’s Grade 7 Grad Sunset Session: Pure Joy and Golden Light

Every so often, a photo session comes along that fills my heart to the brim (and overflowing!), and Kyla’s grade 7 grad celebration was one of those unforgettable evenings.

To mark the end of her elementary school years, Kyla’s mom booked this special session just for her. It was a celebration of everything Kyla has achieved so far, and it was easily one of the most joyful, love-filled shoots I’ve ever had the privilege of capturing.

Kyla showed up beaming in a gorgeous green dress that she paired with high-top Nike runners – peak Grade 7 style! She carried a delicate bouquet of wildflowers picked from the area, and from the moment we started shooting, the joy and energy were absolutely infectious.

Her younger siblings were there too, cheering her on, taking behind-the-scenes photos, cracking jokes, and generally adding to the laughter and love that surrounded us all. The bond between Kyla and her mom was so deeply present in every frame – every snuggle, every laugh, every proud glance.

And as if the emotional magic of the evening wasn’t enough, the skies showed up too. The light was pure gold, the clouds turned pink and cotton-candy soft, and everything seemed to glow with the warmth of the moment.

I left that session with sore cheeks from smiling. It was one of those evenings I’ll always remember because it wasn’t just a grad session. It was a celebration of love, strength, and everything that makes life beautiful.
