Mara’s Youth Headshot Session

I’ve known Mara for many years through Delta Youth Theatre, and it’s been such a joy to watch her grow into the amazing performer and person she is today. I still vividly remember the first time I saw her perform, singing “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman at a piano and voice recital where my son was also performing. She was much younger then, but even at that age, she stood out for her bravery and determination.

Now heading into her grade 12 year, Mara has become a cornerstone of the DYT community. She’s in both productions every season, always bringing her signature “yes, let’s!” attitude. Whether she’s stealing the show with impeccable comedic timing or stepping into a heartfelt leading lady role, I feel like Mara can pretty much do it all! She’s equally at ease sharing the stage with seasoned performers as she is welcoming new cast members, and I love her special knack for making younger kids feel included and supported.

Photographing her for this headshot session was an absolute treat. She’s chatty, interesting, smart, and just plain fun to be around. Her warmth and personality made the shoot so easy and enjoyable, and of course, she’s a natural in front of the camera.

I can’t wait to see her shine in The SpongeBob Musical: Youth Edition this season with DYT, but even more, I’m excited to see where life takes this crazy smart, beautiful, and talented young woman. Wherever she goes, I know she’s going to light up the stage 🙂
