When I got married, I wanted a relatively simple affair. We chose to get married in my dad’s backyard in Qualicum Beach, in front of a small crowd of about 60 people and then we had a BBQ afterwards. It was relaxed and it was really fun.
So when Jane contacted me about photographing her wedding at her home in Vancouver, I couldn’t wait to be a part of the festivities. I arrived a little bit early to her lovely home so that we could do some quick posed shots with the family and the bride & groom in the backyard. Shortly thereafter, the guests began to arrive. Each and every person was greeted by Jane and/or Gordon at their front door, and everyone was full of smiles and congratulations. There was such a feeling of celebration in the air!
Before the sun began to set, Jane & Gordon said their vows in the backyard, as their friends & family gathered to watch from the porch. The ceremony was full of laughter and joy, as these two smiling souls made their commitments to one another. I honestly loved being a part of their festivities. So many kind family members and friends, sharing laughs and champagne on a beautiful autumn evening.
