This was the summer of extended family sessions, and I was loving it! Not just from the business-side of things, but mostly because it meant that families were able to gather again and spend time with one another, and that’s just truly joyful to watch.

I had met Elyse a few years ago at one of my studio Mom & Me mini sessions – back when she just had two adorable little boys. Now she’s a mom of 3 adorable kids and an auntie to 2 precious nieces, and everyone gathered together, grandparents included, for a photo session at Deas Island Regional Park. We chose a part of the trails with some light streaming through the green trees and a charming, rustic fence, perfect for photos of every arrangement. We captured the whole group, the grandparents & grandkids, each family grouping, just the kids, and then we had some time left over to play and capture candid images (always my favourites).

It truly was a fun session and I’m so pleased with the variety of images we caught. A huge thank-you to Elyse and her extended family for trusting me with these moments!
