I am always privileged to see Kimiko and her family every year for my holiday sessions, but this year, the dates didn’t work for them. So instead of meeting me at Chang’s Taekwondo with a festive holiday background, we scheduled a simple studio session at my home at a later date – which worked out really well! It might that I had some extra time to chat and hang out with a crew that I love to see annually, and they got some photos that they can use all year round.

Kimiko’s kids are growing up SO fast! It feels like yesterday that I was visiting them at home for their newborn session with their youngest and now he’s a bubbly, vibrant, humorous little man! And her eldest just gets more articulate and interesting every year. It’s such a treat to catch up with them.

While I know that many families love a good festive holiday mini session for their Christmas cards and social media posts, I must confess, it’s not always my favourite! I love something a bit more unposed and less perfect – it’s just my style of photography. So, I’m not sure how I’m going to move forward with holiday mini sessions in the future – we shall see!
