If you’re looking for a beautiful and magical location for family photographs, with a variety of gorgeous backdrops, it’s impossible to go wrong with Centennial Beach at Boundary Bay Regional Park. As a Tsawwassen photographer, I find this picturesque spot to be both spellbinding on a sparkling summer evening, and equally breathtaking on a cool autumn morning. It’s one of my go-to spots for family portraits that truly reflects the beauty of our beachside community of Tsawwassen.

My favourite location at Boundary Bay Regional Park is, hands-down, the fields just past the gravel parking lots. On a perfect summer evening, you can’t go wrong with the sparkling, golden grasses:

But even on a more overcast night, there’s still the potential for gorgeous images:

And if wide open fields aren’t quite what you’ve envisioned, there are more tucked away spaces that still boast tall grasses that twinkle in the setting sun:

Closer to the water, there’s also endless potential for beautiful images – and fun! And if you’re feeling really brave, one a warm summer night, even the water looks tempting and can results in lovely, dynamic images:

Lastly, Centennial Beach park also hosts a lovely little duck pond just beyond the children’s playground, which is also quite picturesque. In the springtime, you might even catch a glimpse of ducklings, which always gives the littlest ones in your family to enjoy when sitting still for a camera isn’t high on their list!
