Ok, this may have been my most favourite family photography session EVER. When Nick reached out to me and asked if I’d be willing to do an “awkward family photo session” for his crew, in advance of Mother’s Day (as a gift for his own mom!), I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I think pictured sweater vest and frilly dresses and bowl cuts or big 80’s bangs. But THIS exceeded alllllll of my expectations!

When Nick’s family piled out of their mini van at the end of my driveway, adorned in crimped hair, neon colours, jean overalls, and dark eyeliner, I felt like I had stepped onto the set of Saved By the Bell.

IT. WAS. INCREDIBLE.

This crew did NOT go halfway – on outfits, on hair, on make-up, on accessories, on posing, on ideas. They came prepared and they came enthusiastic, and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much during a session in all of my life.
