Spring Family Mini Session at Diefenbaker Park – Ryan & Family
There’s something so special about seeing families grow and getting to capture those changes through my lens. I had the joy of photographing Ryan and his sweet family on a perfect spring morning in early May at Diefenbaker Park in Tsawwassen. It had been four years since our last session together, and wow, those kids have grown!
Back then, his daughter’s curly hair was tucked into the tiniest little pigtails. This time around, she came bounding into the park full of energy, curls still bouncing, but definitely not so tiny anymore! Watching the bond between the siblings and their playful spirit was such a treat. The kids were suitably silly (as we know, my favourite kind of kids!) and brought so much personality to every frame.
The weather did give us a bit of a challenge with a cool breeze sweeping through the park, but we turned it into part of the adventure. We darted between the shaded areas (ideal for lighting) and the sunny spots (perfect for warming up chilly fingers). The park was bursting with fresh greens and soft blooms – truly the best of what spring in Tsawwassen has to offer.
Sessions like these remind me why I love what I do. The joy, the connection, the growth – it’s all there, wrapped up in laughter and wind-tousled hair. Thank you, Ryan and family, for trusting me again to capture some memories for you. Let’s not wait another four years next time!
