Colourful Confidence: A Headshot Session with Kari Jones

If you live in South Delta, there’s a good chance you’ve heard the name Kari Jones. Whether you’ve tasted one of her custom cookies from Kari’s Cookies or simply know her from around the community, Kari’s name is synonymous with creativity, colour, and sweet treats.. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing her for a headshot session — and it was every bit as vibrant as she is.

Kari took part in my Headshots for $100 Special, both for her business and “just because.” She wanted images that captured who she is right now — as a business owner, a mom, and a woman with a lot of heart and a lot of colour. One of her biggest requests was to showcase her fantastic, multi-coloured hair. The pink, blue, and purple strands aren’t just eye-catching — each one represents one of her three children, a tradition she started when her first daughter was born. I absolutely loved that personal touch and we made sure to highlight it throughout the session.

Working with Kari was an absolute dream. She brought a calm and grounded energy to the shoot, was open to ideas, and totally game for anything — even sitting on the ground for some relaxed, candid portraits. The mix of casual and polished images we captured feels like the perfect reflection of her personality: warm, authentic, and full of life.

Whether she’s piping icing onto cookies or dyeing her hair in honour of her kids, Kari puts love into everything she does. I’m so glad I got to spend time with her and help her tell a bit of her story through these images. Keep your eyes out for her — and if you haven’t tried her cookies yet, you’re missing out!
