Full Circle Moments: Ella’s Grad at Sunset

Early July brought so many of those golden evenings that make you pause and soak it all in, and it was the perfect backdrop for Ella’s grad photos. This wasn’t just any session for me, though. It was a full circle moment, as I had photographed Ella for her Grade 7 sunset grad back in 2020. To see her step into this new milestone with the same radiant energy was really special.

Ella is one of those people who impresses you right away. She’s articulate, thoughtful, and seems to carry a deep sense of who she is – a quality that shines through in every image. I first met her through Delta Youth Theatre, and even then, her confidence and presence were unforgettable. Watching her grow into this stage of her life has been really fun.

For her session, Ella wore the most stunning strapless grey-blue dress that caught the light beautifully and sparkled as the sun dipped lower in the sky. Adding to the magic was her mom, who came along to share in the moment and watch the sunset unfold. Their bond is something really special, and it was heartwarming to capture Ella’s milestone with her biggest cheerleader close by.

From her Grade 7 sunset session to this unforgettable grad evening, photographing Ella has been an honour. She’s the kind of person who reminds you why these sessions matter – not just for the photos, but for celebrating the journey and all the beautiful connections along the way.
