A Sunset Session to Remember at Centennial Beach

It feels almost impossible to keep finding fresh words for all the incredible sunset sessions I’ve had this summer! Each one has been unique and special, although when I think back to Marcey’s family session at Centennial Beach, it was everything that makes me love photographing families – an August evening filled with sunlit beauty, laughter, and connection.

Marcey and her husband brought their three lovely daughters, and I was instantly struck by how thoughtful and articulate they all were. Each girl seemed wise beyond her years, and then their youngest added an extra spark of silliness that had us all smiling. This family’s energy was calm and soft-spoken, yet when I threw out any of my go-to prompts, they didn’t hesitate to jump right in. It was clear how much they genuinely enjoy one another’s company.

As the sun dipped lower, we made our way down to the beach, where we were rewarded with one of the most stunning skies I’ve seen this year – gorgeous pinks and purples stretching across the horizon. It was the perfect backdrop to wrap up their session, and a reminder of just how magical these summer evenings can be.

Though I still have a few more sunset sessions to share, this marks the close of my shooting season. What an epic summer it has been! I feel so grateful for every family who trusted me to capture their memories, and I truly can’t wait to do it all again next year.
