A Cozy Morning with Baby L

I had the absolute honour of being invited back into Kasia and Josh’s home to capture another special chapter for their family – welcoming their sweet new baby boy, Lukas. It’s always such a joy to photograph families as they grow, and this one is especially close to my heart. I first met Josh years ago when he was my son’s taekwondo instructor – an incredible role model who had such a positive impact on him. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing Josh and Kasia’s wedding in 2021, and their first newborn session when big sister arrived in early 2023.

Stepping into their cozy home again felt like visiting old friends. Big sister proudly showed off her Hallowe’en decorations hanging in the windows, and from the moment I arrived, she brought her boundless energy — dancing with dad, climbing on mom, and happily snacking between moments. Meanwhile, baby Lukas was the picture of calm, content to soak it all in with his soft little expressions and sleepy stretches.

My favourite part of the morning came when we gathered everyone together on mom and dad’s bed with a few storybooks. The four of them snuggled up close, reading to baby Lukas, fun and laughter filling the room. It was such a simple, beautiful moment – the kind that reminds me why I love what I do. Those photos of quiet connection and growing love are the ones I know they’ll treasure most.
