Golden Leaves & Genuine Laughs

This fall mini season was one for the books – busy, beautiful, and bursting with amazing families! I was thrilled to be out shooting weekend after weekend, and one of my favourite sessions from the season was with Nichole’s lovely crew.

For this year’s minis, I went back to an old favourite spot – the top northwest corner of Diefenbaker Park in Tsawwassen. It’s been a few years since I’ve done fall sessions there, and I’d forgotten just how perfect it is! The leaves were plentiful, the colours were rich, and there’s such a great mix of backdrops that make every frame feel a little bit different.

Nichole’s family is relatively new to me. I photographed acting headshots for her three kids earlier this year, and was so honoured to be booked to capture the whole family this time around. Everyone showed up looking picture-perfect in coordinated outfits, with the girls in sweet dresses (and, let’s be honest, slightly painful shoes!).

One of my favourite parts of every family session is watching how parents interact with each of their kids individually. It’s where the magic happens – the giggles, the snuggles, and yes, the sibling annoyances that keeps things real. Nichole’s family was no exception; every combination of people brought a different kind of fun and connection to the images.

The result? A gorgeous, varied gallery full of warmth, laughter, and that unmistakable fall glow. I absolutely loved photographing this family and can’t wait to work with them again!
