Golden Moments with Sarah’s Family

After a summer of reschedules due to weather and busy schedules, we finally made Sarah’s family session happen, and it was absolutely worth the wait! This session was extra special, including not just Sarah’s family of five but also her parents. It was really important to Sarah to have her parents, especially her mom, included, and I’m so glad we could make that happen.

We met just before sunset at Deas Island Park, a location I don’t usually use for sunset sessions, but it worked beautifully. The paved pathways made the park easily accessible for Sarah’s mom, and the soft light created the perfect glow for capturing everyone’s personalities.

It had been a few years since I last photographed this family, and wow – her kids have really grown! Her eldest son is now taller than just about everyone (don’t tell dad!). Meanwhile, her youngest two were full of energy and ideas, always ready with a silly face or a playful pose, keeping the session fun and lively.

We found some lovely sunlit spots by the water and explored a variety of photo combinations, capturing both family groups and sweet individual moments. From candid laughter to playful antics, this session truly celebrated the warmth and connection within Sarah’s family.

Even with a summer full of reschedules, patience and planning paid off. It was such a joy to capture these memories, and I look forward to meeting up with them again – when all their kids are taller than dad!
